Who is Schengen?

Perhaps the whole French visa application process is meant to weed out those people who will not be able to remain sane while dealing with the French beauracracy (hmm, beauracracy looks suspiciously like a French word. Makes sense now.). In any case, after 2 hours at the French consulate in Toronto with all three kids in tow, and then a further 3 for Dave (punishment I'm sure for not having an "appointment") our visa applications are now on their way to France to be scrutinized by the appropriate authorities.
