Valley Girls

Morzine, France.
We've settled in for a week in Morzine-Avoriaz, two inter-connected alpine villages in France. Our chalet, where we're staying, is run by a young British couple who fell in love with the area and wanted to stay. Tons of hard-core mountain-bikers (I said to Dave that we should send any single women we know here for a summer holiday, because there are tons of buff guys riding around. Dave didn't like that observation!), loads of families, and so much cheese!!

We drove down from Paris two nights ago in our rented Volvo sedan. Close quarters for all of us after the cavernous minivan at home. Amazing how loud the kids are when there are three of them sitting inches behind you.

The view was unexpectedly breathtaking as we passed through the first tunnel out of Bugundy and into the foothills of the Alps. The girls have been duly impressed with the mountains and Hannah is keen to paraglide, since every crest seems to have paragliders hovering up in the sky above us.

Mountain hikes, glacial lake swims, and a visit to a goat-village where the "greedy, but friendly, goats" roam through the streets accosting tourists for bags of goat treats, have been on our roster of activites. Everyone loved it except Eden, who is at a vulnerable height and did not appreciate the over-aggressive goats.
